HDPO Conducts Training on Monitoring and Reporting Grave Violations Against Children in South Al Fashir, North Darfur

The Humanity for Development and Prosperity Organization (HDPO) held a specialized training workshop on the mechanisms for monitoring and reporting grave violations committed against children, strengthening community-level child protection capacities in South Al Fashir, North Darfur.

The workshop targeted 20 participants of both women and men drawn from IDP shelters and host communities in Al-Thawra, Al-Salam, and Al-Wehda neighborhoods. The training aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and practical skills in identifying, documenting, and safely reporting grave child rights violations in line with humanitarian protection standards.

The sessions were highly interactive and featured in-depth discussions between participants and the facilitator, which significantly enhanced understanding of the training content and encouraged shared learning based on community experiences.

This activity was implemented as part of a four-month integrated emergency project providing coordinated services across Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Protection, and Health, ensuring a holistic response to the needs of displacement-affected populations.

The project is funded by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Sudan and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Sudan.

Through this initiative, HDPO continues to demonstrate its commitment to child protection, community empowerment, and accountability, reinforcing local mechanisms that safeguard children’s rights and wellbeing in conflict-affected areas of North Darfur.
