
In commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence 2025, Humanity for Development and Prosperity Organization (HDPO) conducted an awareness session in Malit locality, North Darfur.
The awareness session focusses on women’s empowerment, women’s rights, and gender equality.
The activity featured an educational drama performance highlighting the harmful impacts of gender-based violence on families and communities, followed by an interactive awareness session and discussion. A total of 140 community members, including women, girls, men (youth and elders), actively participated and engaged positively on the messages delivered.
HDPO also conducted a psychosocial support (PSS) activity for children at the same venue, reaching approximately 150 children. The session created a safe and joyful space where children expressed themselves through poetry and singing. The activity was documented through photos and videos reflecting the positive impact on children’s well-being.
These activities were well received by the local community, demonstrating the effectiveness of using community-based and culturally appropriate approaches, such as drama, to promote awareness and positive social change.
HDPO will continue with activities to commemorate the16 Days of Activism campaign in Malit locality, reaffirming its commitment to protecting women and girls, promoting gender equality, and strengthening community awareness.
