Humanity for Development and Prosperity Organization (HDPO) distributed 2,000 fuel-efficient stoves to registered and verified beneficiary households across 20 targeted villages in Eastern and Western Localities in Al Gedaref.
The distribution reached IDPs, returnees, and host community members, with 100 stoves allocated to each village. The activity translated earlier community awareness and trainer capacity-building efforts into direct household access to fuel-efficient cooking technology.
The distribution covered 10 villages in each locality, including Doka, Seref Bawai, Abu-Arwa, Greeb, Mahala, Al Dawort, Rashid, Um-Rakuba, Tawarit and Al Hamara in Galabat Al Shargia, and Kassab, Um-Belil, Um-Thawani, Al Huri, Tagali, Al Uzaz Sogra, Zarga Donki, Tayaba, Al Saraf and Saboni in Galabat Al Garbia.
The activity was implemented by HDPO with partner and support from IOM Sudan and funded by the United Nations Peacekeeping. The completion of the distribution marks an important step in expanding access to fuel-efficient cooking solutions while strengthening community participation and sustainable resource management across the targeted villages.
HDPO staff and community volunteers supported beneficiary verification, distribution-point organization, check-in, handover, and record-keeping. Each beneficiary received one stove together with basic guidance on safe use and fuel-saving practices, while signed or thumb-printed distribution records supported accountability and reconciliation.
