To strengthen access to life-saving primary healthcare services for conflict-affected populations, the Humanity for Development and Prosperity Organization (HDPO) launched mobile clinic services in Mellit Locality, North Darfur, as part of the project Provision of Integrated Emergency Lifesaving Health and Basic Protection Services for Conflict-Affected Population in Mellit Locality in North Darfur.
The activity was implemented with support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) through the Rapid Response Fund (RRF), funded by United States Department of State, and marks the start of mobile health service delivery under the project. The mobile clinics are planned to continue on a weekly basis to ensure sustained access to essential healthcare in underserved areas.
Mobile clinic services were delivered at Al-Abbasi Health Center on 19 January 2026 and Al-Marabee Health Center on 20 January 2026, in coordination with local health facility staff and community structures. Services included general medical consultations, provision of available essential medicines, health counseling, and follow-up of pregnant women.
At Al-Abbasi Health Center, a total of 150 individuals received services, including 12 children and 4 pregnant women, while 96 individuals were reached at Al-Marabee Health Center, the majority of whom were children (85) and 8 pregnant women. No medical referrals were recorded during either activity.
Despite challenges such as shortages of essential medicines, limited diagnostics, and high workload on health staff, the activity was successfully implemented through prioritization of critical cases and close coordination with facility teams.
These initial mobile clinic services demonstrate HDPO’s continued commitment to delivering people-centered, needs-based humanitarian health assistance. HDPO will continue weekly mobile clinic outreach to expand coverage, address health gaps, and support vulnerable IDPs and host communities across Mellit Locality.
