HDPO Conducts PSEA Training to Strengthen Community Protection in South Al Fasher, North Darfur

Humanity for Development and Prosperity Organization (HDPO) held a one-day training workshop on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) on 29 August 2023, aimed at strengthening community awareness and accountability mechanisms in South Al Fasher, North Darfur.

The workshop benefited 20 participants, with 50% female representation, drawn from IDP settlements and host communities in Al-Wahda, Al-Salam, and Al-Thawra neighborhoods. The training focused on increasing understanding of PSEA principles, community roles in prevention, safe reporting mechanisms, and the rights of affected populations to receive assistance free from exploitation or abuse.

The sessions encouraged open dialogue and active participation, enhancing participants’ ability to identify risks, promote safeguarding practices, and support survivor-centered approaches within their communities.

This activity was implemented as part of HDPO’s integrated emergency response and was funded by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Sudan with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Through such initiatives, HDPO continues to reinforce community-based protection, accountability, and safeguarding standards, contributing to safer and more dignified humanitarian assistance for displaced and host communities in North Darfur.
