HDPO Establishes Community Protection Networks for Women and Children in South El Fasher, North Darfur

Humanity for Development and Prosperity Organization (HDPO) has established four community protection networks in South El Fasher, North Darfur, strengthening protection services for internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by ongoing conflict and displacement.

The initiative includes two child-friendly spaces and two women-focused protection centers, established within IDP communities in Al-Thawra and Al-Salam. These networks provide safe, accessible spaces that promote protection, dignity, and community engagement for women and children at heightened risk.

The activity is implemented as part of a four-month integrated emergency project delivering coordinated services across Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Protection, and Health, ensuring a holistic and community-centered humanitarian response.

The project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Sudan, reflecting strong partnership support for life-saving and protective interventions.

Through these efforts, HDPO continues to reinforce community-based protection mechanisms, enhance access to essential services, and support the safety, wellbeing, and resilience of women and children in displacement-affected areas of North Darfur.
