HDPO Conducts Coordination Visits to Support Integrated Emergency Response in North Darfur

As part of the start-up and early implementation phase of the project Restoring Lives of Affected Families and Communities through Integrated Emergency Response in Sudan II, the Humanity for Development and Prosperity Organization (HDPO) conducted a series of coordination visits and stakeholder meetings in Tina, Bamna, Gadeer, and Ander, North Darfur State, from 10–12 January 2026.

The project is implemented by HDPO, with donor support from Relief International, and funded by the USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA). The coordination activities aimed to ensure a shared understanding of project objectives and strengthen collaboration with local authorities and community stakeholders across the Health, Nutrition, Protection, and WASH sectors.

On 10 January 2026, HDPO held a stakeholder coordination meeting in Tina Locality with representatives from the locality administration, health authorities, humanitarian coordination offices, Tina Hospital, native administration, women and youth groups, water committees, and HDPO staff. The meeting resulted in strong endorsement of the project and agreement on coordination mechanisms and transparent community participation processes.

Subsequently, HDPO conducted coordination visits to Bamna on 11 January and Gadeer on 12 January 2026, engaging health staff, community leaders, and local committees. Discussions focused on planned project activities, community roles in implementation, and mechanisms for participation in trainings and service delivery.

Due to security constraints preventing direct access to Ander, alternative coordination was carried out through responsible authorities and community representatives. It was agreed that Ander would be equally represented in project trainings and activities conducted in Tina until security conditions allow field access.

Despite security and logistical challenges, these coordination efforts established a strong foundation for inclusive and effective project implementation. HDPO will continue close coordination with authorities and communities to ensure the delivery of integrated, people-centred humanitarian assistance in North Darfur.
