Sudan Program – Field missions
Ground water availability is one of the key concern in Sudan and particularly Darfur.
Hundred of villages and nomads use to walk hours daily to get the drinking water, children and women engage in water fetching, the lack of access to water contributed in a signification reduction in school enrolment, open defection is a common practice, women and the adolescent girls regularly face protection challenges.
HDPO conducted a field assessment in East Darfur – Muhajeria area where the displaced people returning back to their origin villages.
HDPO is working with the villagers and the communities in the area to promote the community led projects, involving the communities from the needs identification phase.
