HDPO and its partners survey the newly displaced people in North Darfur
Al-Fashir – July 4, 2023
HDPO team has surveyed the newly displaced people who fled the Tawila Locality to Naivasha and Abuja camps, north of Al-Fashir, the capital of North Darfur.
The number of families in Al-Salam Center (2) reached (766) families and (3575) individuals, while the number of children reached (554) children, (1427) women, and (2578) men. As for Al Salam Center (1), the number of displaced families reached (130).
These displaced people suffer from very bad humanitarian conditions, and the Protection Officer at HDPO, Mr. Adam Al-Reeh said that hunger threatens the lives of these newly displaced people, and this comes in the lack of services, including health, food, water, as they lack shelter materials and so on.
Adam added: The displaced live on the displaced efforts from the Naivasha camp, as they are provided with food and drinking water, and stressed that the meal is not enough for these displaced people.
Adam Al-Reeh indicated that they, along with partners from organizations in Al-Fashir, surveyed the newly displaced in the Naivasha and Abuja camps. These organizations were divided into groups under UNHCR supervision.
The violence now underway has forced tens of thousands to flee in search of safety. The camps for the displaced in North Darfur are also witnessing overcrowding due to the new wave of displaced people.
HDPO and other partners plan to provide timely services to these displaced people who need life-saving assistance with basic life support services.
